A day in my life with my extraordinary family

Hi! I’m Carl, 11 years old, and I live with my two amazing moms. Yep, I have two moms, and for me, that’s what makes my family truly extraordinary. We may not look like the typical family, but our home is filled with love, laughter, faith, and unforgettable moments. And guess what? I also have two super cool pets: Oreo, my energetic dog, and Nero, my quiet little fish who swims like he’s dancing.

Every day begins in the stillness of early morning. At around 4:30 a.m., while most of the world is still asleep, one of my moms gently wakes me up. I stretch under my blanket, and Oreo is already waiting at my door, wagging his tail like he missed me overnight. His energy always makes me smile.

After brushing my teeth and taking a quick shower, I get dressed while the smell of breakfast fills the air. One of my moms is in the kitchen making something warm and comforting like eggs and rice, or bread with hot chocolate. Before I eat, we say a short prayer, thanking God for another day. My moms always remind me to pray often and be grateful, no matter what the day brings. That keeps my heart strong.

By 5:00 a.m., I’m double-checking my bag and sipping the last of my chocolate. At 5:20 a.m., I head out for school. I like arriving early it gives me time to greet my friends, laugh a little, and get ready for whatever the day throws at me.

School starts at 5:40 a.m. and ends at 11:50 a.m. It’s a short day, but it’s packed with learning: Math, English, Filipino, Science, TLE, and more. Some lessons are tricky, but I always give my best. I know my moms believe in me, and that gives me the strength to keep trying even when it’s hard.

When I get home, Oreo greets me like I’ve been gone for years jumping, barking, full of joy. One of my moms usually has lunch ready, and we eat together while I tell them all about my day the good, the funny, and even the stressful parts. They listen to every word like it’s the most important story in the world.

After lunch, I feed Nero and play with Oreo for a bit before diving into my homework. The afternoons are peaceful. I study, help with chores, or just relax. Sometimes I draw, play games, or watch videos while Oreo naps beside me and Nero swims in slow, peaceful circles.

In the evening, we always make time for each other. We eat dinner together, laugh about silly things, or talk about our dreams and we say another short prayer, thanking God for the blessings of the day. My moms always remind me that being different is beautiful, and that what matters most is how we treat people with kindness, respect, heart, and most of all, to never forget to trust in God’s plan and be grateful.

Before bed, I check on Oreo and Nero, brush my teeth, and get my things ready for the next day. I crawl into bed, cozy and happy. Then I say one last prayer, thanking God for my family and for everything I have. I fall asleep with a peaceful heart, knowing I’m loved beyond words by two moms who would do anything for me, and by two pets who make every day brighter.

My family may not be like everyone else’s, but it’s filled with warmth, laughter, love, faith, and a little bit of magic.

That’s what makes it extraordinary. 💖
